ART AND MUSIC FESTIVAL IN ATHENS, GA
Established in 2019, ADVF was a two-day festival in Athens, GA during the first weekend in March showcasing a variety of solo and duo performers cross-genre. Its mission was not only to bridge the divide between music and art communities, but to also highlight artists most often left at the periphery.
ADVF has been honored to showcase talented acts such as Dynasty Handbag, Jennifer Vanilla, Wizard Apprentice, Taylor AXLNDR, LEYA, Eli Saragoussi, plus many many more, at venues such as Caledonia Lounge, Go Bar, and Athica over the years of 2019 and 2020. Works spanned from Pop, Darkwave, Indie, Experimental Performance Art, Sculpture, Video Art, and Drag.
In 2021, ADVF received a grant from the Athens Arts Council to create a mixtape with the same ethos in mind: bridging the gap between art and music. Due to the pandemic, ADVF wasn’t able to organize a festival, but found a space for creating an art object that could be circulated by artists once and when they could perform live again. Talent included the likes of Ripparachie, Freak Daddy, Ivy Hollivana, and many others.
